Happy Mother's Day!!

Today is officially my first Mother's Day. It counts!

Today I taught at Newsong about our journey these past couple years. Wow. It was hard, rewarding, affirming, vulnerable, emotional, and a profound marker for these past couple years of pain. I shared a lot about the pain of our infertility journey, but there was a pronounced sense of joy and anticipation for our little girl. It was also a powerful reminder for me and others that God is our Mother better than any earthly mother. God is care-giving, comforting, and nurturing more than any other mother on this planet.

Next year, I'll have a baby girl to celebrate this day with. Oh what a day that will be. Until then, we'll move forward in the process, as best we can, awaiting her arrival into our life.

My heart is so full after teaching this morning, but won't compare to how full it will be next Mother's Day. I miss & love you oh-so much, Baby Ethiopia. You have my heart. I will be the best mother I can be as I learn how to do it from God our Mother.
